HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Smoothing Peel not only removes dead skin cells but also helps your skin retain moisture longer. Fruit acids have an activating effect on the underlying skin layers, stimulating collagen production and firming the skin. This effect also fades pigmentation and minor imperfections over time.

Fruit acids (pineapple and bilberry) are the perfect way to gently and thoroughly exfoliate your skin. Corallina seaweed is rich in magnesium and calcium, which help maintain the skin's hydrolipidic balance, improve suppleness and moisture levels, and strengthen the barrier function. The red algae has antibacterial properties and is rich in antioxidants that help combat aging.

WHAT SKIN TYPE?

The Smoothing Peel is for all skin types, including sensitive skin or skin with (a predisposition to) Rosacea.

The peel can be used as an alternative to an exfoliating scrub, which can aggravate rosacea.

HOW DO I USE IT?

This routine will help you get the best out of your skin.

Use the Smoothing Peel once or twice a week on cleansed skin.
Massage 2-3 pumps into your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 5-7 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water.
The peel can also be used on dry areas of your body, such as the backs of your upper arms, knees and legs.
For best results, use the Balancing Toner,and the Nourishing Facial Cream or the Rich Facial Cream after the peel.

Is it normal for my skin to become red after the Smoothing Peel?

It's indeed normal to experience a slight redness after using the peel. However, this should subside after 30-45 minutes. If it lasts longer, we recommend leaving the peel on for a shorter time, e.g., 1-2 minutes. If you experience flaking, which is possible, we also recommend reducing usage to no more than once a week or two weeks, leaving it on for 1-2 minutes. Once your skin has adjusted to use, you can always increase usage back to once or twice a week, or extend the application time. We generally recommend using it once a week, leaving it on for about 5 minutes.

If you used a regular skincare brand before using Witlof, you may also experience some flaking as your skin recovers from the use. In most cases, this will eventually go away, and your skin condition will improve significantly. Less dryness and no more flaking. Where in my routine is the best place to use the peel?

The best routine is cleanse – peel – toner.
The Smoothing Peel is most effective on cleansed skin. Afterward, your skin is better able to retain moisture, so the Balancing Toner will deliver the most results.

How mild is the Smoothing Peel?

The Smoothing Peel is a very mild peel, more of aenzymatic fruit peeling than a classic AHA or BHA peel. The exfoliating effect comes from fruit extracts and enzymes, not from high concentrations of free acids. This makes it:

Suitable for sensitive skin types
More refining and brightening than strongly “flaking”
Rather maintaining, not deeply peeling

Because there are no grains in the peeling, it seems like the peeling is not doing anything. What the peeling will do for my skin is still a surprise. :)

Before I used this peeling I was a scrubber. Not anymore !! I use the peeking twice a week. Gain 5 minutes before showering and you shine all day. My beautician thought I had done botox? It makes your skin very soft, wrinkles get less and your porin smaller. Highly recommended!
